we have a graph in our minds that is constantly guaging talent versus courage, hope versus pessimism, whatever else. ultimately this graph determines the size of our balls and for what we are willing to go all out. it's very scary when you realize that your success in life is contingent upon walking onto a stage before people, each with two eyes minus pirate spectators, and recite your frivolously written poetry. i'll get over it though. it's all gaming.     (3-31-05)

 The story behind '813.' when i first got to college i went to one of those freshman
events, the kind organized by cool R.A.'s that aren't just authorities but also
friends to us. i met the hottest girl i'd seen, or really have since,
and i made some jokes and actually got her number. after days, then
weeks of hesitation, i decided to call her one thursday night. alas!
i'd lost the number. all i could ever remember of it were the middle
three haunting digits: 8 1 3. 8 1 3. bellowing in such a lonesome
way.....xxx.813.xxxx senior year i met a new girl who lived in room
813. i "took it as a sign from the all mighty Lord, but you know what
they say about he who hesitates in war...he who hesitates is lost."
(jigga) i came to realize over time, then all at once, that this new
813 representative would never be the answer to a number long gone
lost. my advice to you is this: 813 girls are the toughest to come by,
hardest to get a hold of and the first to fade away. avoid them as they
reject you in the balancing act of a lonesome lifetime. just kidding - they're sluts~!     (3-10-05)

On Um (Somebody): yo dudes, it was brought to my attention upon its original release ((coughing sound raul santiago))
that apparently some vox were hard to understand on the original copy of this so i 'went ahead'
and remixed down and i took out and lowered some of the backups. i include this
information now for the interested, the uninterested alike, and the questionable use of commas.
